The quality of consistently treating people and communities with respect and courtesy is a sign of maturity. Tact allows ideas and opinions to be expressed in a constructive and beneficial manner while justice ensures outcomes are fair.

Consider the following situation on your own: You meet the new supervisor for your team. You think she seems really great, and you are excited to learn from her. One of your teammates says, “She isn’t very smart, she can’t even speak proper English.”
What do you do? Try to think of a few different things you could do (positive, negative, and neutral). What might the results of your actions be?
