Introduction
Attitudes are an individual’s tendency to respond positively or negatively towards an idea or a person. Attitudes are usually expressed or demonstrated in likes and dislikes and affect our choice of action, response to challenges, incentives, and rewards.
How might your attitude help you achieve your goals?
What might be some ways to use a positive attitude this week? What might be the outcome?
-
Critical Thinking
Consider the following situation on your own: You are working on a team and the rest of the team has a negative attitude. They complain about everything, and you feel annoyed with their attitude. You notice it is starting to impact your attitude as well.
What do you do? Try to think of a few different things you could do (positive, negative, and neutral). What might the results of your actions be?
-
Collaboration
For a small group, each student presents their ideas to the whole class. Provide opportunity for positive feedback from peers or support if they are struggling to think of ideas.
For a larger group, divide students into small groups and have students present their ideas to the small group. Provide opportunity for positive feedback from peers or support if they are struggling to think of ideas.
