Introduction
Leaders are accountable to others. Leaders should set an example for others and look out for others. As a leader your duty is to set the standards for your group by personal example as well as look out for others.
How might you practice your accountability? What might be the result of your actions?
-
Critical Thinking
Consider the following situation on your own: You are the captain of your team and one of your teammates seems to be struggling with one of the new drills. You notice other teammates giggling a little as this person continues to struggle. You overhear them say this person does not belong on the team and only got on team because their parent made a big donation to the school.
What do you do? Try to think of a few different things you could do (positive, negative, and neutral). What might the results of your actions be?
-
Collaboration
For a small group, each student presents their ideas to the whole class. Provide opportunity for positive feedback from peers or support if they are struggling to think of ideas.
For a larger group, divide students into small groups and have students present their ideas to the small group. Provide opportunity for positive feedback from peers or support if they are struggling to think of ideas.
