Having grown up in Fort Worth’s Como and Houston’s Third Ward neighborhoods, Gunny McDade is a graduate of Fort Worth ISD. He brings a unique perspective on the challenges of low socio-economics on youth and has endured extreme hardship. Thus, he is a perfect mentor in overcoming adversity and developing mental resilience.

Navy Cross Recipient

The Navy Cross is the United States Marine Corps’ second-highest decoration awarded for valor in combat for extraordinary heroism.

Gunny McDade was awarded the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism during the Second Battle of Fallujah. As a machine gun squad leader on the night of November 11, 2004, McDade and his platoon were pinned down by heavy gunfire in a small alleyAt the extreme risk of his own safety, McDade moved through the intense enemy fire multiple times as he successfully extracted three wounded Marines.

Gunnery Sergeant McDade provides invaluable battlefield and real-world experience in developing leaders through mentoring, coaching, and public speaking. He drives the overall strategic direction of our Instructor Corps, curriculum, and program development.

Gunny McDade continues to dedicate himself to the mission of building elite citizens in his own home as well as students in our program.
